FOCUS
RV Motion Pictures is focused solely on bringing intellectual property stories to life and is serious about getting s**t done with as little drama as possible.
Motion picture production is an exciting and rewarding business -- from hearing the impassioned story of one’s life experience to seeing it transformed into a show or motion picture that entertains, informs, and inspires others. But the path from idea to realization is challenging and isn’t always lined with red carpets. It takes the right story, the right timing, and most importantly, the right people to make it happen, which is why RV Motion Pictures was created.
WHY IP? Amidst a landscape that wreaks of iterations and reboots, intellectual property projects are a breath of fresh air. Based on real people and real-life stories, they delve into unchartered territory and are by their very nature, one of a kind, making them more desirable within the marketplace.
APPROACH
Luck Results happen when preparation meets opportunity.
Without one or the other, a project may never see the light of day. Preparation in itself takes time, and with 20+ years of experience working with and for studios in development, finance and production, I’ve cultivated a holistic approach and trusted network of collaborators to create the right environment and opportunities to move concepts forward through the development process. That process isn’t always linear and often involves telling people what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear. In the end, RVMP’s goal is to find the right home for each project, maintaining the integrity of the original story and minimizing risk along the way.
ABOUT
With a grandfather and father both in the construction business, I spent many summers as a kid working on site doing odd jobs (mostly to keep me out of trouble, but also to earn money for my first Super8 camera). Needless to say, there were no expectations that hard hats and hammers would be in my future as my sights were firmly set on a career in television and film. The experience, however, did instill in me a profound appreciation for what it really takes to build something from the ground up – not only successful negotiation, investment and management of time, money, and people, but trust and integrity to foster meaningful relationships that endure challenging times and last well beyond the end of a project. They are lessons and skills nurtured over time and that continue to empower my success as a producer today.
